An affable man approached me outside of a restaurant, wanting a ride into town.
I told him no.
I told him that I no longer let strangers in my car.
He said he understood.
He said heʻd come from Oahu, where he had also been treated badly.
But it was the way of things, he said, because his thoughts created the world. He said that he needed to get to Hilo, to save everyone from sex trafficking, and that it had to be Hilo, because his work needed the international airport. He said the CIA had bugs all over him, and that they were listening, but that he was of the bloodline of Jesus Christ, and well, what can you do. He said he was dismantling the government now, with his thoughts. He said that last yearʻs missile crisis was his doing, accidentally, because someone had been rough with him on Oahu, and he called down a curse on the island, and it really did cause a missile to launch from a Chinese destroyer. He said that missile was real, by the way.
He said the Jews, of which he was one, knew Jesus was a false prophet, because Jesus changed the order of the Commandments, which no Jew would have done. He said there was evidence of this going back 2000 years. He said Jesus was welcome, though, to help build things going forward. He wanted me to know that the Catholics dated back to the bull worshippers of the Old Testament, and that I should be aware that if I take communion, that that wafer really was part of a body, and that that red stuff in the cup was blood. He looked disgusted. The CIA lied to him, he said. They lied to him about who he really was and kept him from his birthright. They were listening now, they were listening all the time. But he said he came straight from the Jesus Christ bloodline and his thoughts would take down the government now, bit by bit. I know it sounds crazy, he said, but Iʻm doing it…except Trump, he stopped listening.
